Unearthing EARTHWORMS
This week, the kids got the chance to search for their tiny little friends that work as plant helpers too- the friendly, wiggly worms. Together with Grade 3's , the Grade 4's started the project VERMICOMPOSTING. They prepared two boxes of dirt where the unearthed earthworms will be kept and fed so they will help produce nutrient-filled soil (compost) for the plants.
ART Appreciation
It was a good break from formal class work to visit exhibits and museum and spend time appreciating ART WORK. Last Thursday, Grades 3 to 6 students and teachers went out to check on the works of the famous Japanese artist, Yuko Higuchi. It was amazing and inspiring to see such awesome art pieces. Taking pictures inside is not allowed. But if you are interested, the exhibit is open until Sunday, 1 September 2019.

Working as a TEAM
Establishing the sense of good teamwork is a valuable way to start the year right. As most learning engagements in the class will require working with others, children need to manifest cooperation, proper communication and taking responsibility all the time. This 'egg drop' activity/challenge made them reflect on how they are as part of a team and what they can contribute to successfully reach their team's goal. Great teamwork, Grade 4s!
